Haas Automation
offers a wide range of CNC HMCs - one just right to meet the demands of your
machine shop.
The Haas line of CNC horizontal machining centers continues to expand,
offering a wide selection of rigid and powerful machines for every application.
These rugged machines easily have the capacity to cut alloy steels, stainless steels,
cast iron and high-nickel alloys, yet also provide the speed necessary for aluminum alloys.
Everybody knows that horizontals have the chip advantage. Rather than forcing
chips out of vertical holes, the Haas horizontal lets gravity do its job – chips
fall effortlessly out of the way. Instead of endmills cutting and recutting chip
swarf, which destroys the tool's cutting edge, chips fall out of the way, leaving
clean cutting conditions for the tool. The results: less chip clogging and double
or triple tool life. With our built-in rotary tables and pallet changers, productivity
easily doubles over vertical machining centers.
The newest HMC from Haas is the EC-1600, a rugged 50-taper machining center with
64" x 40" x 32" xyz travels, 64" x 32" table and 6,000 rpm, geared-head spindle.
The standard T-slot table holds parts up to 10,000 lb, and the spindle is powered
by a 30-hp vector drive system. A 30-pocket side-mount tool changer is standard.
In base configuration, the EC-1600 comes without an enclosure, allowing complete
access to the table for very large workpieces. The optional full enclosure includes
dual chip augers and a coolant system with 80-gallon capacity.
The Haas EC-400 is an HMC with a host of high-productivity standard features. The EC-400
is a T-base horizontal machining center with a generous work cube of 20" x 20" x 20",
dual 400 mm pallets with 1,000-lb load capacity, incremental (45-degree) indexing, a
large-volume coolant system and triple-auger chip removal. An inline, direct-drive spindle
system couples the motor directly to the spindle, which means less vibration, less heat
and less noise than belt- or gear-driven systems – and hence superior surface finishes,
excellent thermal stability and quieter operation. The standard 40-taper, 8,000-rpm spindle
is powered by a 20-hp vector dual drive system. A side-mount tool changer and 1,000-ipm
rapids are also standard, and a wide range of options is available to boost performance
still further.
Topping the HS line is a series of extra-large travel machines offering fully supported
X-axis travels to handle extremely heavy loads, and featuring high-torque 50-taper spindles
for serious metal removal. Based on the successful HS-3 and HS-3R, the modular configurations
of the HS-4, HS-6, and HS-7 allow you to choose a machine with the travels and footprint you
need. Each machine also comes equipped with a 30-hp vector drive and 38-tool side-mount tool
changer to handle heavy-duty cutting.
The HS-4, HS-6, and HS-7 are also available with built-in 4th-axis rotary tables as the HS-4R,
HS-6R, and HS-7R. With a 10,000-lb capacity and 50" swing radius, you can easily machine all
four sides of very large parts in a single setup. You'll find the new HS series of horizontals
the perfect job shop machine if you're looking to make more money in less time than ever before.
