Programmed directly through the lathe's control, the Haas APL operates in the background of normal turning operations to deliver near-continuous unattended machining. The double-sided rotating gripper loads and unloads parts with a single trip to the spindle, or flips parts for double-ended turning.

The APL comes with six template programs, designed to help the operator position parts in and out of the spindle by following step-by-step instructions. As the system becomes familiar, the programs may be modified to suit individual needs.

Available only with a new SL-20 turning center, the Haas APL is a fully automatic lathe parts loader with opposing two-jaw grippers. Two gripper configurations come standard: one for shaft work and one for stacker systems. Programming via the user-friendly Haas control is straightforward and uncomplicated.
 

The tray is easily unbolted for customized table configurations (such as the disk setup shown below).
