Main Control PCB - (Plug-in Type) - Battery Replacement - NGC

Parts Required

Kit Part Number: 93-69-0107, SVC KIT PLUGIN BATT FOR NGC MAIN. Quantity: 1

Electrical Safety

 Caution: When you do maintenance or repair on CNC machines and their components, you must always follow basic safety precautions. This decreases the risk of injury and mechanical damage.

  • Set the main circuit breaker to the [OFF] position.

 Danger: Before beginning any work inside the control cabinet the High Voltage indicator light on the 320V Power Supply / Vector Drive must have been off for at least 5 minutes.

Some service procedures can be dangerous or life-threatening. DO NOT attempt a procedure that you do not fully understand. If you have any doubts about doing a procedure contact your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) and schedule a service visit.

Battery Test

Measure the voltage of the battery on the Main Control PCB (Printed Circuit Board).

Use a digital multimeter.

If the voltage is less than 3.0 VDC (Volts Direct Current), replace the battery.

Battery Replacement

Connect the lead from the LITH BATT W/CONN [A] to the open connector at J1 or J17 on the Main Control PCB.

Cut the cable tie that holds the installed battery in place. Remove and discard the installed battery.

Use a cable tie[B] to attach the replacement battery to the PCB.

Set the machine date and time. Refer to the Next Generation Control - Date/Time Change procedure.
