This procedure outlines how to field install the Pallet Pool Ready Kits on the following machines:

• UMC-500/SS Manufactured after 6/20/2023
• UMC-750/SS Manufactured after 8/29/2022
• UMC-1000/SS Manufactured after 3/29/2023 
• UMC-1250/SS Manufactured after 8/12/2022

Machine Requirements:

• Next Generation Software Version 100.20.000.1110 or higher.

This procedure applies to the following Service Kits:

• 93-1001066: PALLET POOL READY FIELD KIT UMC-500
• 93-1001076: PALLET POOL READY FIELD KIT UMC-750
• 93-1001077: PALLET POOL READY FIELD KIT UMC-1000
• 93-1001078: PALLET POOL READY FIELD KIT UMC-1250

Important: If you are also installing the Pallet Pool at this time, refer to the UMC - Pallet Pool Receiver - Field Installation procedure after this one is completed.

Rotate the B-axis +90 degrees and remove the cover [1]. Return the B-axis to its original position at 0 degrees.

Install the prox switch bracket [1] using its hardware [2] as shown.

Install the NC clamp sensor [3] and the NO Unclamp sensor [4] as shown.

Important: It is important that the clamp/unclamp sensors are installed in the correct locations or the pallet receiver may behave incorrectly.

Route the 2 hydraulic hoses and the air hose underneath the rotary as shown in [1], tie these out of the way using cable clamps and velcro strips. These cables will be connected when the Pallet Pool Receiver is install.

Continue routing the cable through the back of the rotary as shown in [2] and zip tie them out of the way, this side of the cables will be connected to the HPU unit when it is installed with the Pallet Pool.

Install the pallet air blast solenoid [1] to the lube panel as shown, route the hose from the solenoid over the top of the machine and into the sheet metal.

Connect the solenoid power cable to the Pallet Air Blast connection in the Air/Lube Cabinet.

Remove the original enclosure sheet metal panel [1] on the right side of the machine.

Install the new enclosure sheet metal panel [2] in its place.

Install the PR and PS axes amplifiers [1] in the respect with the decal labels on the amplifier fan bracket.

Note: Pictured is only one amplifier, both will get installed the same way.

 Note: Remove black [1] DC BUS cable from -H.V. [1] and remove white [2] DC BUS cable from +H.V. [2] from the last amp. These will be connected in the same way on the PS amplifier once installed.

Route the PR and PS axes power cables through the opening on the bottom of the control cabinet and connect the power cable leads to the high voltage terminals as follows:

• red to RED [1]
• white to WHT [2]
• black to BLK [3]

Connect the ground wire [4] to the bracket for the amplifier fan

Find the high-voltage terminals [5] on the nearest amplifier

Find the high-voltage terminals [7] on the amplifier

Install the jumpers [6] from the installation kit between these terminals

Connect the black wire to -H.V. Connect the red wire to +H.V.

Connect the current command cables to the connector near the top of the each amplifier [1]. Connect the other ends of the cables to the AMPLIFIER COMMAND outputs on the Maincon PCB [2] as follows:

• PR axis to the output 15
• PS axis to the output 16

Important: Install the ferrite filters to the Command Cables on the Maincon PCB side [2].

Route the PR and PS axes encoder cables through the opening on the bottom of the control cabinet and connect them to the ENCODER inputs on the Maincon PCB [3] as follows:

• PR axis to the input 15
• PS axis to the input 16

Connect the DC BUS Cables back to the PS amplifier as illustrated in step 3.
