Introduction

The following chapter will provide a guided walk-through on the maintenance for the Haas Vertical Saw - 1.

HVS - Maintenance Schedule

Maintenance Item Interval
Clean off table Daily
Inspect blade condition Weekly
Inspect oil mist resevoir level Monthly
Replace saw blade As Needed

HVS Blade Install

Power [OFF] the machine.

Open the two access doors [1] on the left side of the machine. 

With the saw blade [2] teeth facing left, place the blade over the two wheels [3], starting with the bottom driving wheel then the top after. 

Check the blade is flush with the wheels. Tighten the blade tensioner knob [4].

Power [ON] the machine.

With the blade covers open, run the saw blade at a slow speed. Observe which direction the blade walks off the rollers.

Caution: Power [OFF] the machine before the blade derails.

Release the blade tension [4] and use the angle adjustment knob [5] to change the wheel angle. Tension blade after each adjustment.

Repeat this step until the blade can run for one minute without derailing from the wheels. Lock in the angle by tightening the locking handle [6].
