The HAAS Vertical Band Saw - 1 presents potential hazards, including rotating cutting tools, high-voltage electricity, and elevated noise levels. To minimize the risk of personal injury and equipment damage, always follow standard safety procedures when operating or servicing this machine.

When using a HAAS Vertical Band Saw - 1  machine, there are more challenges that present: 

• Ensure the machine and all associated tools are properly and securely installed.
• Conduct and document a comprehensive risk assessment after installation.
• Only authorized personnel may set or modify safety parameters. Any changes must be followed by a thorough analysis of the affected safety functions.
• Safety parameters shall be set and changed by the authorized personnel. After the safety factors are modified, the relevant safety functions need to be analyzed.
• Do not operate or touch the HAAS Vertical Band Saw - 1  when it is working.  Inspecting machine parts or troubleshooting while the machine is working may lead to serious injury. 
• Make sure the workpiece is completely fastened on the workbench; otherwise, personal danger may occur.
  

The work area must be adequately illuminated to allow a clear view and safe operation of the machine. This includes the operator work area and all areas of the machine that might be accessed during maintenance or cleaning. Adequate illumination is the responsibility of the user.

Cutting tools, work holding, workpiece, and coolant are beyond the scope and control of Haas Automation, Inc. Each of these potential hazards associated with it (sharp edges, heavy lifting considerations, chemical composition, etc) and it is the responsibility of the user to take appropriate action (PPE, training, etc).

Cleaning of the machine is required during normal use and before maintenance or repair. Optional equipment is available to aid cleaning, such as wash-down hoses, chip conveyors, and chip augers. Safe use of this equipment requires training and might require appropriate PPE and is the responsibility of the user.
