Introduction

Regular maintenance is essential for the Haas Miter Saw.  This page provides the recommended maintenance intervals along with the corresponding instructions.

HMS - Oil Reservoir

Note:  The HMS will not arrive with ISO 46 oil already inside the machine.

In the case of a refill, turn OFF the band saw. 

Remove the panel on the side of the machine [1], open the cap to the hydraulic reservoir [2] and fill the machine with either ISO 46 or ISO 32 oil. 

Note: Do not cross-contaminate oils during a refill.

In the case of an oil change, turn OFF the band saw. 

To remove the fluid from the reservoir, begin by taking off the side panel of the machine at location [1].

Remove the rubber grommet found at position [2]. Once the opening is accessible, insert a multi-purpose transfer pump and use it to siphon the fluid from the internal reservoir into an external container.

HMS - Coolant Refill

Locate the coolant reservoir on the back end of the machine as shown in the image. 

Inspect the coolant reservoir and verify that it is free of chips or debris.

Fill the reservoir with coolant until the fluid level is just below the top of the metal mesh [1].

Note: Overfilling beyond the mesh may allow chips to be drawn into the system when the pump is operating.
