Introduction

This section provides an overview of the controls on the Haas Miter Band Saw - 3123.

HMS - Main Power Switch

To power on the Haas Miter Saw, locate the main power switch positioned on the side of the machine, as shown in the image.

Turn the knob to the right to power on the saw. 

HMS - Control Panel

Number Button Function Description
1 Open Vise Opens the front vise on the saw bed.
2 Raise Saw Frame This button raises the entire frame.
3 Blade Start  This button starts the saw wheel. 
4 Coolant / Mist Condenser This knob will determine whether to run the coolant pump or mist condenser when cutting a part. 
5 Power On Light  This light indicates that power is being supplied to the machine. 
6 Close Vise Close the front vise on the saw bed. The mitersaw will only run as long as a part is securely clamped in the vise. 
7 Lower Saw Frame This button lowers the entire saw frame. Before activating it, ensure the saw table is completely clear to avoid any potential collisions when the frame is fully lowered.
8 Blade Stop  This button stops the saw wheel from turning.
9 Emergency Stop This is the emergency stop for the saw. Activate it during maintenance to prevent the saw from operating.
10 Feed Rate Valve The following dial adjusts the feed rate of the miter saw frame.
11 Blade Speed Dial  The following dial adjusts the saw's blade speed.

HMS - Pressure Valve

Use the following knob [1] to increase pressure or decrease pressure on the clamping vise on the HMS.

For proper operation, the gauge pressure should be maintained between 2 - 3 MPa.

Note: To begin an operation on the HMS, the part must be securely clamped using the hydraulic vise before the blade can be started.
