5.1 HSF-450 Troubleshooting

Symptom Probable Cause Corrective Action
The display screen does not light up when switched on. 

Poor contact of the display cable. 

 Remove the display screen and check the display cord connection.
No response when clicking commands on the display. 

There is debris between the display and the installation frame. 

Remove the display screen to check for debris. 

The display screen is damaged. 

Contact your HFO for repair options. 

The emergency stop button has been pressed. 

Check if the emergency stop button has been pressed. If it is engaged, release it.

Note: The Cylinder will move to the opposite position when Estop is engaged. For example, if the cylinder was extended heating a tool, the cylinder would retract when Estop is pressed. 
Coolant does not flow when pressing the "cooling" button. 

The water pump switch is not turned on, or the pump is not powered. 

Turn on the water pump switch.

Verify the electrical connections to the pump. 

The water pump was damaged. 

Contact your HFO for repair options. 
No coolant in the coolant tank

Fill the coolant tank with machine coolant to 70% full. 

The HSF-450 does not ship with coolant. 
Over temperature alarm

The heating head protection measures are triggered. 

Let the machine cool for 30 minutes, then restart. 

Short circuit of heating head protection measures. 

 If this alarm is generated intermittently when the machine is cold, it could be a faulty heating head cable. If the over temperature alarm flickers on and off when the heating head cable is moved, the cable will need to be replaced. 
Contact your HFO for repair options. 
Overcurrent alarm

Short circuit. 

Contact your HFO for repair options. 

Heating head failure. 
The tool Coolant flow is too low. 

Improper adjustment of coolant valve or valve is set closed. 

Open the rear door to adjust the opening of the valve on the water pipe. See the section "Adjust Coolant Valve" in 3.1 OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS. 

The coolant intake is blocked by debris. 

Empty the coolant tank and check the Intake for debris. 
The cylinder cannot be raised or lowered when cooling. 

If the cylinder does not move, the solenoid valve that controls the cylinder may be damaged, and the air path may be blocked. 

Check the solenoid valve and cylinder for debris blocking movement. 

If it is damaged, contact your HFO for repair options.  

The cylinder is moving, and the positioning sliding sleeve in the cooling system is stuck. 

Contact your HFO for repair options. 
The heating head does not work. 

The heating head circuit is faulty. 

Contact your HFO for repair options. 

Poor contact at the heating head connection. 

Contact your HFO for repair options. 
Water in the air-cooling hose

High water content in compressed air. 

Press the button on the bottom of the water tank separator to drain the water. 

The water in the gas-water separator is full.
