After the machine is powered on cycle the door and the [EMERGENCY STOP] button. Then press [POWER UP].

The zero return sequence follows as such:

1. Z - Axis
2. X - Axis
3. TT - Axis

NOTE: When all the axis are at home position an Home icon will be displayed next to the axis.

The Chuck has two disks that control the position of the chuck jaws. The chuck jaws will close if the one in the back [1] is turned counter-clockwise and the one in the front [2] is turned clockwise. 

Each disk has wholes that a rod [3] can be inserted into to allow additional leverage when opening or closing the chuck jaws. 

To open the chuck, turn the back disc [1] clockwise and the front disc [2] counterclockwise. 

Turning tools are held in place by two screws, radial [1] and axial [2], and a wedge block [3]. 

To install a turning tool, insert the tool in the correct orientation with the wedge. Once the turning tool and wedge are tightly put into place, screw the axial screw in to prevent the tool from popping out and then screw in the radial screw [1] to keep the turning tool and wedge tightly in place. 

Drill chucks are held in place by a single set screw [1]. Undo the set screw and place the chuck into the hole. Retighten the screw to hold the drill chuck in place. 

Place the shank end of the ER11 collet chuck into the hole [1] on the turret. Tighten down the set screw from step 1 to hold the chuck in place. Drills can now be installed into the Collets. 

This procedure goes over how to extend the Z axis travel on Desktop Lathes. 

By default, the Z-axis travel on a desktop lathe is 2.87 inches or 72.898 mm. However, setting 315 can extend this limit to 3.25 inches or 82.55mm. 

This is done to prevent crashing the turret into the chuck. With the default travel, the face of the turret will be just in front of the chuck, as shown in the image.  Warning: The screws holding the tools in place may still hit the chuck at default values 

Setting 315 can be found by pressing [SETTING] -> going to the user positions tab -> typing "315" and pressing [F1]. 

Note: In the image, the turret is at its default Z-axis limit but not at its X-axis limit. If the X-axis moved closer, the turret would crash. 

To turn off the Z-axis limit, go to the setting and press [ORIGIN] [2], and the setting will show inactive [1]. 

To reset the Z-axis limit back to 2.87 [1], move the turret to the correct position, go to the setting, and press [F2] [2].

To find the exact position, move the Z axis away from the spindle to the right and record the max travel in the active coordinate system. Subtract 2.87 from that number. Jog to that position, then go to the setting and press [F2] [2]. 

For example, if the maximum travel from the spindle is 0.7973, the equation would be 0.7973-2.87=-2.0727. You would need to jog to a Z-axis position of -2.0727 and then set setting 315.
