11.1 Desktop Lathe - Troubleshooting Guide

Designed to cut plastics and machinable wax, it is also perfect for hobbyists and benchtop machinists.

Symptom Table

Symptom Possible Cause Corrective Action
No axis load while the machine is in motion. None There is no force feedback to the control from the axis motors or amplifiers. Therefore, no axis load will show on the control. The machine is operating normally as intended. 
Machine will intermittently loose its home position. Machine will recieve a message stating "Axes not zeroed: X, Z, and TT." Axes shifted while the motors were inactive. Setting 216 "Servo and Hydraulic shutoff" will set the machine into a power save mode when the machine is left to idle after 120 seconds. This setting causes the motors to power down causing them to loose their home position. To turn this setting off change its value from 120 to 0.
Alarm 9971 Excessive Axis Speed or Acceleration. Software Bug  The software on the machine needs to be updated to a minimum of 100.24.000.1110 to resolve this alarm. 
Attempting to command the spindle at a speed below its minimum allowed speed will cause Alarm 9192: Spindle Speed too Low.  Spindle commanded to run below the minimum speed.  The minimum speed for the Desktop lathe is 1478 RPM. Always command the spindle above this speed. 

Estop and Alarm 107

Symptom: The Estop button is released, but alarm 107 EMERGENCY STOP does not reset. 

Possible Cause: The primary Estop cable [1] is disconnected from its port J9 [2] labeled "Estop SIM" on the table top adaptor. 

Corrective Action: 

If no parts are damaged, plug the cable back in and cycle power the machine. 

If the cable [1] is damaged, replace the cable and power cycle the machine. P/N 33-0673

If the port [2] is damaged, replace the table top adaptor.  P/N 93-32-3097
