Introduction

This procedure will show you how to install a Chip separator on your machine

This procedure applies to the following kits :

  • 93-2356 CLNT FILTER ASSY SERVICE KIT 
  • 93-2876  FIELD INSTALL KIT CPK-MM EDU/UK
  • 93-5826  CLNT FILTER ASSY SERVICE KIT (For UMC-350s)

Machine compatibility 

  • All HMCs and VMCs
  • UMC-350s are only compatible with 93-5826

Note : Chip separator is an updated coolant filter unit. For more information regarding the coolant filter click here.

Installation

Important : Make sure to depressurize the coolant system using the washgun after turning off the machine.

Remove the coolant hoses connected to the Coolant Filter [2] then remove from the enclosure.

Note : The hose clamps are crimped and need to be replaced after removal.

Install chip separator assembly using the provided hardware onto the machine.

Connect coolant pump to fitting [1].

Connect spindle flood coolant to fitting [2].

Fittings [3] and [4] are for washguns.

Important : Valve [5] is for maintenance and should be opened to evacuate built up chips periodically.

Important : TSC option does not connect to the chip seperator or coolant filter.

To properly connect the coolant hoses slip the hose clamp [2] on the hose then place a hose cap [3] on the fitting before joining both together. Crimp the hose clamp using a crimping tool [1] and give the hose a slight tug to ensure proper clamping.

Note : Ensure that the rounded edge of the hose cap [3]  is facing away from the hose.

Turn on the machine and verify that the system is leak free. Inspect the pressure gauge to verify that the pressure is 25-30 psi.
