This procedure tells you how to level an EC-1600. Do this procedure any time you move the machine.

Use these numbers to identify which foot to adjust.

Prerequisites:

Adjust each leveling screw until the bottom of the leveling pads are 3" above the ground

 Note: The condition of the foundation may require different heights at some leveling screws to make the machine level.

Machine Compatibility:

Do this procedure on an EC-1600 that was made after September, 2015.

• CNC Dual Leveling Tool (P/N T-2181)
  
• 6" (15 cm) granite square
  

Remove the Z-Axis pitch.

Make sure the floor of the column is clean.

Put a 6" (15 cm) granite square inside the rear of the column.

Put the CNC dual leveling tool [1] onto the square parallel to the Z Axis.

Jog the Z Axis in the negative (-) direction to the end of travel.

Record the position of the bubble in the level.

Jog the Z Axis in the positive (+) direction to the end of travel.

Record the position of the bubble in the level.

Compare the two positions.

Adjust the 1,2, and 3 (rear) feet [2] or the 7, 8, and 9 (front) feet until the bubble stays in the center of the level at each end of travel.

Remove the Z-Axis roll.

Put the CNC dual leveling tool [1] onto the square parallel to the X Axis.

Jog the Z Axis in the negative (-) direction to the end of travel.

Record the position of the bubble in the level.

Jog the Z Axis in the positive (+) direction to the end of travel.

Record the position of the bubble in the level.

Compare the two positions.

Adjust the 1, 12, 11, 10, and 9 (left-hand side) feet or the 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (right-hand side) feet [2] until the bubble stays in the center of the level at each end of travel.

Level the X Axis and the Y Axis.

Zero return all Axes.

Make sure the rotary table is clean.

Put the CNC dual leveling tool on the rotary table. Make sure the long side is parallel to the tee-slots.

Adjust the 1, 12, 11, 10, and 9 (left-hand side) feet or the 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (right-hand side) feet [1] until the bubble is in the center of the level.

Put the level perpendicular to the tee-slots.

Adjust the 1,2, and 3 (rear) feet [2] or the 7, 8, and 9 (front) feet until the bubble is in the center of the level.

Level the Z Axis.

Put a granite square [1] onto the table adjacent to the spindle.

Put an indicator into the spindle.

Put the stylus against the top of the square. Set the indicator to 0.

Jog the A Axis to -180 degrees.

Jog the Z Axis until the stylus touches the block.

If the indicator reading is less than 0.0005", no adjustment is necessary.

If the indicator reading is more than 0.0005", adjust the 7, 8, and 9 (front) feet [2].
