Regen Assembly - Replacement

Push [POWER OFF].

Set the main circuit breaker to the OFF position.

Lock the main circuit breaker. Use an approved lock with an approved safety tag.

 Danger: If the voltage indicator light is on, do not touch the electrical components. The high voltage in the electrical cabinet can kill you. Wait for the voltage indicator LED to go off fully.

Disconnect the regen cable [1] from terminals 1 and 2 on the vector/spindle drive. If the regen assembly has ceramic resistors, disconnect the fan and thermostat cables.

 Note: Not all regen assemblies have a fan.

Remove the used regen assembly that has coil resistors [2], or that has ceramic resistors [3], from the top of the electrical cabinet.

Put the grommet [2] on the cable for the replacement regen assembly [1] through the hole at the top of the electrical cabinet.

Install the regen assembly.

Connect the cable to terminals 1 and 2 [3] on the vector/spindle drive. If the regen assembly has ceramic resistors, make these connections:

Fan cable to 92-91 on TB1 on the servo-distribution PCB

 Note: Not all regen assemblies have a fan.

830 Oveheat cable to:

  • P20 Pre I/O-S PCB
  • P14 Post I/O-S PCB

Route the cable through the cable carrier.

 Note: Not all regen assemblies have a overheat cable.

920 Servo Regen cable on P10 on the Servo Distribuition PCB.

Note:  Not all regen assemblies have a servo regen cable.
