DC - Air Blast - Installation

Introduction

This procedure tells you how to install the air blast service kit to DC machines without the option pre-installed.

Machine Compatibility:

  • DC-1

This procedure applies to the following service kit:

  • 93-1001179: AIR BLAST KIT DC-1

Installation

Jog the Z Axis to the bottom of travel.

Push [POWER OFF].

Set the main circuit breaker to the OFF position.

Lock the main circuit breaker. Use an approved lock and an approved safety tag.

Close the primary air valve. This stops the air supply to the machine.

Open the bleed valve on the air manifold. 

Do this until all air pressure is released. Make sure that the air pressure is 0 psi (0 bar).

Remove and discard the manifold plug [1].

Clean the port threads [2] on the manifold.

Assemble the solenoid fitting [5] into the solenoid.

Install the Solenoid [A] into the manifold port.

Install a red cable tie [3] on the fitting.

Connect the factory-installed clear hose [4] to the solenoid. Install the second red cable tie to this hose.

 Note: Refer to the Air-Lubrication System decal inside the lubrication cabinet for correct solenoid placement. If the red cable tie is not installed on the hose, check for a 10 mm clear hose that is not connected. 

Connect the solenoid cable to the connector that has the "AUTO AIR GUN" label on the connector panel.


Air Blast Activation

Turn on the machine.

Login to the HBC PORTAL.

Download the Air Blast option configuration patch files.

Note: The option files will appear on the configuration download page after the Air Blast service kit has been ordered. If the option does not appear, contact the service department.

Load the option configuration patch file to the control. Refer to the NEXT GENERATION CONTROL - CONFIGURATION FILE - DOWNLOAD/LOAD procedure.

M83 starts the air blast.

M84 stops the air blast.
