Parameter Values and Usage

The parameter changes below are required when replacing a non-magnetic encoder with a magnetic encoder.

The parameter changes in the table that follows are necessary when you remove a non-magnetic encoder and install a magnetic encoder. Make sure all the parameters are set to the values in the table that follows. If a parameter has a value of zero, do not change it. When you replace a spindle encoder on a machine that has a single encoder, change Parameters 79, 182, 186, 187 and 239. 

A lathe can have two encoders: a spindle encoder and a motor encoder.

  1. When you replace the spindle encoder on a lathe that has two encoders, change Parameters 79 and 239.
  2. When you replace the motor encoder on a lathe that has two encoders, change Parameter 182, 186 and 187.

When you replace the encoder on a lathe secondary spindle, change parameters 540, 544, 545, 570 and 571.
