Mini Mill/Super Mini Mill - Machine Version - Identification

Introduction

Within recent years, Haas Automation has made design updates to the Mini Mill/Super Mini Mill series machines. Some, but not all parts are interchangable between older machines and their redesigned counterparts.

To identifiy which iteraion of these machine models you are dealing with, look for the following key identiifying features below.

Mini Mill Series Reboot Version

Reboot Mini Mill and Super Mini Mill machines (current version) can quickly be identified by the following features:

  • Reboot machines have a base casting unlike non-reboot machines
  • There are more enclosure panels located round the base casting.
  • For machines with chip auger, the chip shoot is on the left side of the machine.
  • There is a coolant tank located on the left side of the machine.

Super Mini Mill Reboot Electrical Cabinet:

  • Super MiniMill Reboot machines have replaced the vector drive and main transformer with a 320Vdc Power Supply [1] and has a 90A Amplifier [2] that drives the spindle. Verify that the machine meets the electrical specification in the Specs tab.

Mini Mill Series Non-Reboot Version

Non-Reboot Mini Mill and Super Mini Mill machines can be quickly identified based on the following features:

  • The machines have a weldment base that is shown in the image.
  • The machine has a narrower base than the reboot machine versions due to the weldment base.
  • There is no coolant tank visible near the machine. The coolant tank is contained inside the weldment base.
  • For machines with the chip auger option, the chip chute is located on the right side of the machine.

Super Mini Mill Non-Reboot Electrical Cabinet:

  • Non-Reboot Super Mini Mill machines use a Vector Drive [1] that drives the spindle and has a Main Transformer [2].
