45W Work Light - Pocket Mill - Installation

Introduction

Note: This kit has not been released yet and is not availabe to purchase.

This procedure will tell you how to install your pocket mill worklight. The following steps are for the Pocket Mill series of mills, however can be helpful guidance for other mill series. 

This document applies to the following Service Kits: 

  • 93-1001306 Pocket Mill - 45W LED Work Light

Caution: Before upgrading your work lights, make sure the work light low-voltage power supply (LVPS) can handle the extra load. Exceeding the capacity of the LVPS will cause the lights to malfunction.

Installation

Push [POWER OFF].

Set the main circuit breaker to the [OFF] position.

Lock the main circuit breaker. Use an approved lock with an approved safety tag.

In the control cabinet, install the 350W LVPS [1] to the plate [2] using the 4 screws.

Then, install the plate [2] to the enclosure [3] using the 4 screws.

Fasten the Pivot Bracket [3] to the Mounting Bracket [1] with the provided hardware [2][4] as shown in the diagram.

Fasten the 45W LED Light [1] using the provided hardware as shown in the diagram. 

Ensure the crush washer [4] is placed in between the flat washer [3] and the hex nut [5].

Adjust lamp to the desired position then tighten until fixed in place.

Screw the bracket mount with light assembly to the inside right corner of the Pocket Mill using 2 FBHCS 1/4-20 x 1/2 [1].

Unscrew top fastener from wall enclosure. Screw fastener back in with cable clamp in between fastener and wall as shown.

Run cable through cable clamp and up through opening at the top of the mill as shown [1].

Remove sheet metal covers [1].

Cut Zip ties holding cables together underneath the covers. 

Run the cables for the work light with the others [2], zip tie them back together. 

Reattach the sheet metal covers.

Caution: Before proceeding, read the decal on the power supply. Power supplies may be updated over time, which can change the terminal locations. Always align the wires according to the markings shown above each terminal.

Plug the light cable into the power supply ensuring -V and +V are plugged into the corresponding terminals. 

Take the CBL 1.5ft 24VDC cable and plug it into the power supply ensuring the 'L' 'N' and 'GND'  are plugged into the corresponding terminals. Plug the other side of the cable into P19 of the I/O PCB.

 

Verification

Turn on the Machine.

Actuate the light switch on the side of the controller to test that the work light turns on.
