Introduction

There are two versions of the HSF-325; one is 230V (09-0020), and the other is 400V (09-0036). Some of the service parts are interchangeable between the two versions and some are not. Review the tables below to verify the exact replacement part.

4.2 HSF Panel Control PCB - Replacement

This procedure will explain how to replace the HSF Panel Control PCB, this should only be performed by a Haas Certified Technician. 

Please contact Haas Service to replace this board.

Electrical Safety

 DANGER: Working with the electrical services required for CNC machines is extremely hazardous and can result in serious injury or death.

Before connecting line wires to the CNC:

  • Turn off all power to the machine at the source.
  • Perform a Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedure to ensure the power remains off during service.
  • Verify that power has been disconnected by using an AC voltage detector on all incoming lines.

If you are uncertain about how to safely disconnect power or perform LOTO procedures:

  • Do not proceed.
  • Contact qualified personnel or obtain appropriate assistance before continuing.

Failure to follow these precautions may result in electrical shock, equipment damage, or fatal injury.

 Danger: Before beginning any work inside the control cabinet, verify that the High Voltage indicator light on the 320V Power Supply / Vector Drive has been off for a minimum of five (5) minutes. This waiting period ensures that residual voltage has dissipated and reduces the risk of electric shock.

Certain service procedures involve high-risk electrical components and may pose serious injury or fatality hazards. Technicians must not attempt any procedure unless they have a complete understanding of the steps involved and the associated risks.

If there is any uncertainty regarding a procedure, contact your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) to arrange for a qualified service technician.

Replacement

Remove the screws that hold the front panel from the bottom of the machine and slide out the front panel.

Remove the ziptie on connector [1] and disconnect the cables shown before completely sliding out the front panel. 

NOTE: Hot glue may be present on the connectors remove the hot glue without damaging the cables or connectors.

Remove the plate covering the PCB [1] by removing the nuts [2] holding the plate to the standoffs.

Unscrew the standoffs [1] from the PCB, there should be only one nut in place of a standoff on the PCB [2].

Unplug the STOP button before removing the PCB.

Be careful not to drop the washers under the PCB when removing the old board.

Replace the old PCB with the new one and verify that all the springs on the buttons [1] are in place. 

To complete the installation do all these steps in reverse. 

Power on the HSF and test that all the buttons, stop button and display are all working correctly.
