• The TRT70 is a unique product designed to interface with the Compact Mill (CM) but can be used on any Vertical Machining Center.
• The A (tilt) & B (rotary) axes do not have a home switch.
• The TRT70 homes using the encoder Z-pulse.

  
  Note: The tilt and rotary axis will find home about 10° from the position where it was left at power off. In order to zero return the tilt and the rotary to the same home position every time: manually jog the tilt and rotary axes to align the markings on the black adapter [2], and the line on the platter [1], with the lines on the casting. Then, the TRT70 needs to be zero returned again to ensure that the home position for the tilt axis is flat and facing up and that the home positon for the rotary axis will be the same every time.

• The TRT70 is a combination worm gear & spur gear driven system [3].

  Note: A & B axis cannot be back driven.

• Neither the tilt or rotary axis has a brake.
• Provided pull pins are used for the CM to center the rotary quickly.

• Features a larger work capacity in size and weight than the TRT70
• Low profile design allows for more z-axis clearance.
• TRT160 is compatible with standard bolt-hole pattern platter, T-Slot platter, or A5 platter to bolt manual A5 chucks and accessories directly to the rotary spindle nose.

• Automatically finds home position

Maintenance is made simple using sight glasses [2] to check oil levels, and accessible fill ports [1] for refilling or changing oil easily. See Maintenance section in the Rotary Service Manual for A-axis and B-axis oil changes.

When setting up 5-axis rotaries, the relationship between the two rotaries must be defined. 

1. Master
2. Slave
3. Independent. 

If the intention is only to use the axis for indexing, "Independent" can be used. However, if the intention is to use G254 DWO or G234 TCPC, one axis must be set as the "Master" and the other as "Slave". 

When selecting which rotary should be the master or the slave. The stacked rotary must be set as the slave [1], and the base rotary attached to the machine as the master [2].
