Run-In Program

This program must be run prior to machine use at time of machine installation. Cycle time: 2 hours. This program can be used for all spindle types.

Note: After a spindle replacement, run the mill spindle vibration test per Mill - Spindle Vibration - Tolerances before running the run in program.

We recommend you put a tool holder in the spindle for the spindle run-in program.

For 10,000-RPM spindles and above, you must always use a balanced grade tool (balanced grade is G2.5 or better ANSI S2.19) in the spindle when running the warm-up program.

Classic Haas Control :

Spindle Run-In Program - O02021 (NC file)

Next Generation Control :

O09221 Spindle Run-In. This program is located inside the O09000 folder.

Warm-Up Program

Every Haas machine includes the warm-up program. Use this program if the spindle was not in operation for more than (4) days or you are about to operate the spindle at a high speed without slowly increasing the speed first.

 Note: You can make a program that operates the spindle warm-up program after a sleep mode program M95. Refer to the manual for M95 operation.

We recommend you put a tool holder in the spindle for the spindle warm-up program.

Mill - Spindle - Break-in Program

The spindle break-in program should be ran when a new spindle is installed. Copy and paste the appropriate program into Notepad and save as a .txt file. Macro variable #100 will vary depending on whether you are working on a NGC or Classic control. Be sure to check the value. NGC #100= #32008 and Classic Control #100= #6631.

If the machine you are working on does not have macros refer to the version of the program below the macro version and manually program into MDI.

Verify the spindle lubrication system is working prior to running the program. If you operate a mill spindle at 10,000 RPM or higher, the toolholder in the spindle must have balanced tooling of grade G2.5 or better (ANSI S2.19). After running the break-in program, the spindle temperature should allow you to comfortably place your hand on the spindle.
