Revision A - 01/2026

Introduction

This chapter has troubleshooting information for the Sheet router. The symptom table contains a list of known alarms and corrective action.

Symptom Table

Symptom Table Possible Cause Corrective Action
Alarm 9142 (TABLETOP 24V DRIVER POWER SUPPLY FAULT) and 9146 (TABLETOP DRIVER FAULT) Adapter board firmware is 2.06 or lower. To check the current firmware go to Diagnostics -> System. The firmware version does not show up in an error report. Update adapter board firmware to 2.07 or higher.
Alarm 9192 (SPINDLE SPEED TOO LOW) Commanded spindle speed too low Adjust program parameters (Refer to Alarm 9192 for more information)
Alarm 328 TOOL NUMBER OUT OF RANGE Values that are populated in the tool table are interfering with the probe calibration process and need to be cleared.
  1. Change Parameter 710 TOOL CHANGER TYPE to a value of 6 ( for SMTC)
  2. Go to Current Commands / Tools / Tool Table
  3. Press ORIGIN
  4. Select #1 Sequence all pockets.
  5. Change Parameter 710 TOOL CHANGER TYPE back to a value of 15 ( for wine rack)
Vacuum Table does not turn on when commanding it. Even when using M59 P155 and M69 P155 The breakers for the vacuum pump are OFF.  Make sure that the breakers for each phase is in the ON position to allow the vacuum to turn ON.
Cable 32-1568 is not connected to the GFCI outlet in the left side wall inside the control cabinet Check the cable to see if it is connected to the GFCI outlet. Make sure that the GFCI outlet is supplying the correct voltage.
The connector at TB2 on the IO PCB is loose or not connected Check the cable. Make sure that pins 2 and 3 are wired correctly on the TB2 connector. See diagram below
The vacuum pump soft starter is alarmed, preventing the vacuum pump from running See the Soft Starter Operation and Faults section below.

Soft Starter Operation and Faults

The vacuum pump is controlled by using the following:

M59 P155 and M69 P155 to turn the vacuum pump ON and OFF

If the vacuum table does not turn ON with either of these commands then you need to check the following items inside the control cabinet.

  1. Make sure the 3 phase breakers next to the soft starter are ON [1]
  2. Check that TB2 is connected to the IO PCB [2]
  3. Check that the wall connector of cable 32-1568/A is connected to the GFCI outlet in the control cabinet [3] and that the GFCI outlet has voltage

If you still have vacuum issues after verifying the wiring and breakers are connected properly, then you need to check the soft starter for the vacuum pump.

When the soft starter is in "standby" mode you will see the RUN (Green) and ERROR (Red) LED's both flashing [1]. This is normal when the soft starter control terminal is connected to the GFCI outlet but the vacuum table hasn't been commanded ON.

Once the vacuum table is commanded ON, the RUN (Green) LED will start flashing. Once the vacuum pump is being commanded at full power, the RUN LED will be always ON.

Vacuum Pump Tripping Circuit Breakers:

If the vacuum pump system trips the circuit breakers [1] on start up, the soft starter control dials may need to be adjusted. The 3 control dials that can be adjusted are:

  • t-Start (seconds) - Controls how long the soft starter takes to reach 100% output once enabled
  • U-Start (percentage) - Controls the starting voltage percentage when the soft starter is first enabled
  • t-Stop (seconds) - Controls how long the soft starter takes to reach 0% output once disabled

The dials are set to the following values by default from the factory:

  • t-Start = 10 seconds
  • U-Start = 30 %
  • t-Stop = 0 seconds (unused)

Confirm that the control dials are set to these values. If they have been adjusted, move them back to the factory set values.

Soft Starter never ENABLES out of Standby Mode:

Check to see if the soft starter is in Standby Mode (Green and Red LED's blinking) even when the vacuum pump is commanded ON.

If the soft starter never leaves Standby Mode then you need to verify the ENABLE signals coming from cable 32-1586/A.

Use a multimeter to check the signals outlined below:

Measurement Vacuum Pump DISABLED (STANDBY MODE) Vacuum Pump ENABLED (RUNNING)
+24 to 0V 24VDC 24VDC
+24 to EN 20-21VDC 0VDC
+24 to A1+ 20-21VDC 0VDC
TB2.1 to TB2.2 Continuity (< 1 Ohm) O.L. (no continuity)

Soft Starter Fault Codes:

If there is a fault detected by the soft starter, the ERROR (red) LED will flash a sequence of times to indicate what the fault was.

For example if you see the ERROR LED blink twice and then pause, this indicates fault #2 - Too Hot occurred. The 6 faults are listed in the table.

Fault Number Description Corrective Action
1 - SCR or Supply Missing phase on the input or output terminals, or an issue with the internal switching device Ensure input and motor connections. Measure the resistance between L1-T1 and L3-T3. If the resistance is less than 10Ohms the soft starter needs to be replaced
2 - Too Hot Internal temperature exceeded the trip limit Avoid frequent start/stop cycles. Make sure cooling fan is running.
3 - Control Supply Low Volts Control supply voltage is less than 19VDC Measure voltage at +24 and 0V on the soft starter. Replace power adapter if less than 19VDC. Replace soft starter if voltage above 19VDC
4 - Bypass Relay Fail Internal bypass failed to close at the end of the start ramp time Replace the soft starter
5 - Shear Pin Motor current exceeded 4.4 times the rated current for 200ms Check if vacuum pump motor has mechanical issue. Measure the current going to the motor to confirm the error is accurate.
6 - Over current Motor exceeded the overcurrent specification for the soft starter Check if vacuum pump motor has mechanical issue. Increase the start time on the control dial.

Electrical Diagrams

The vacuum pump system consists of the following wiring diagram:

  1. Machine K1 Contactor [1] - Supplies 220VAC to the soft starter circuit breaker [2] anytime the Haas machine is powered ON
  2. Soft Starter Circuit Breakers [2] - Need to be in the ON position for voltage to get to the soft starter system.
  3. Soft Starter [3] - Starts the vacuum pump when it receives a command signal from the Haas control to start. It slowly starts the vacuum pump until the pump is running at 100%.
  4. Vacuum Pump [4] - The output of the soft starter is wired directly to the vacuum pump.
  5. GFCI Outlet [5] - 115VAC outlet supplies voltage to the 24VDC power adapter that controls when the soft starter is enabled.
  6. 24VDC Power Adapter [6] - Changes the 115VAC to 24VDC which is used to enable the soft starter.
  7. TB2 on IO PCB [7] - The soft start enable signal is connected to TB2 on the IO PCB. This allows M59/M69 to control when the soft starter is enabled which in turn controls the state of the vacuum pump.
  8. 32-1568 [8] - Soft Start enable cable that is wired from the IO PCB to the soft start control inputs.

Note: Depending on when the machine was built the wiring setup for the soft start may differ slightly from the wiring diagram above. Machines may not have circuit breakers [2] or cable 32-1568 will have a different pin out to enable the soft starter (32-1568A).
