“Our company serves the commercial transportation industry, as well as the aerospace industry. We design and build the power-conversion system and accessory-power system for hybrid public transportation buses. For aerospace parts, we’re making parts for commercial and military avionics.

“With the UMC-750, we’re building five sides of the part, which allows us to get to five out of those six sides that we need to build. There’s also 5-axis work that needs to be done. In that part, there are ledges with radiuses in between that you can’t build without the 5-axis capability.”

We specialize in aerospace and defense parts. Our Haas machines allow us to do high-speed machining. When we got our first UMC-500, we realized we could add our quick clamp system, which was invented by my dad and uncle, onto that UMC just by modifying it a little bit so the air comes in a little differently. There is a rotary swivel on it, and now we can take our fixtures that we’ve been using for 20 years and put them right on our UMC-500 and continue to machine just as we have in the past, but now with the capability of the 5-axis, it’s just more efficient.

We got our VF-4SS and ST-20 in early December 2018. We expanded with our UMC-1000 in March 2021. We utilize our UMC-1000 for many new and existing suspension components. We're able to take parts with 5 to 9 different set ups and get them done in 2 set ups. Our Haas machine completely changed how we build and design our components by being able to control this process in-house. HAAS was the clear choice for us when deciding to bring machining in-house. The time we save on set ups pays for the machine.
