Note: The location of the grease pump (grease-gun style) is different on some machines.

The high pressure minimal lubrication system pumps grease through flexible plastic tubing to the axes at 300 psi (20.7 bar).

Use the illustration to identify the parts of the lubrication system.

Note: The grease system does not work without air pressure supply to the machine.

1. Grease Pump (Grease-Gun Style) Assembly - Supplies grease to linear guide trucks and ballscrews. This systems uses a Mobil XHP 221 grease cartridge located inside the grease pump (grease-gun style) assembly.
2. Solenoid Assembly - Activates the grease pump (grease-gun style) to send grease to the system.
3. Air Filter Regulator - Prevents excess grease pressure.
4. Pressure Gauge - Shows the grease pressure (in psi and bar) of the system.
5. Main Air Regulator - Controls incoming air pressure to the machine.
6. Pressure Gauge - Shows the pressure (in psi and bar) at which the air is regulated.
7. Ball Valve - Turns the main air supply on/off.

Main Distribution Manifold

Note: The main distribution manifold appearance may be different on some machines.

1. Main Distribution Manifold - Sends grease to the axis manifolds.
2. Grease Pressure Switch - Monitors the grease system pressure and sends a signal to the control to generate an alarm if the pressure drops below the minimum level too quickly.

Axis Lubrication Cycle

The grease pump (grease-gun style) lubricates the axes at a rate of (1) pump stroke (1.125 ml of grease) for every 1000 meters of axis travel.

Grease moves from the grease pump (grease-gun style) [1] through a nylon tube to the main distribution manifold [2].

Grease moves from the main distribution manifold [2] to the axis manifolds [3].

Note: Each axis has (4-6 ) linear guide trucks [4] and (1) ballnut [5].

Grease moves from the axis manifolds through flexible plastic tubing. The flexible plastic tubing sends grease to the linear guide trucks [4] and the ballnut [5].

Note: There is (1) nylon tube that goes to each linear guide truck [4] and (1) nylon tube that goes to the ballnut [5].

Axis Manifold Fitting Information

The high-pressure grease system uses non-restrictor fittings [1] in the axis manifolds. The linear guide trucks use restrictor fittings [2] and adapter fittings [3].

Note: Adapter fittings are smaller than restrictor fittings and do not restrict the flow of grease.

Note: The linear guide trucks on some machines use restrictor fittings [2] and do not have adapter fittings [3] in the linear guide trucks.

Note: The amount of grease supplied to each linear guide truck will not be the same.

Note: The flexible plastic tubing on this system are equal length.

Caution: Do not change the length of any flexible plastic tubing. This changes the flow of grease.
