Remove the handle from the right door and attach the edge sensor bracket [1] by reattaching the door handle [2].

Attach the edge sensor rail [3] to the bracket using (4) self-tapping screws provided.

Note: If the machine has a window airblast option, it will need to be removed and reattached after installing the edge sensor bracket.

5

Slide the edge sensor [1] onto the rail as shown.

For VF-Small machines, connect the edge sensor cable to cable [A] and route the cable as shown in [2] using the provided cable clamps and cable carrier.

For VF-Medium & VF-Large machines, connect the edge sensor cable to cable [A] and route the cable as shown in [3] using the provided cable clamps and cable carrier. Secure the other side of the cable carrier using the provided hardware [4] as shown.

Once through the cable carrier, route the cable to the control cabinet along the same path as the Autodoor motor cable.

The cable part number for cable [A] is as follows:

  • VF-Small: 33-0799
  • VF-Medium: 33-1799
  • VF-6/7/8/9: 33-0794

6

For VF-7/9/10/11 and VR-9/11 Machines

Attach the cable carrier support bracket [1] to the top of the door as shown.

NOTE: To prevent the cable from getting caught in the door, install the second cable carrier support bracket [2] to the opposite side of the door as shown.

This bracket is used to prevent the cable carrier from drooping.

UMC, DT/DM-1, MM/SMM, and CM-1 - Installation

1

Attach the rail to the sheet metal using the double sided tape provided. Drill 0.159 inch holes in the sheet metal and secure the rail using the provided self-tapping screws.

Note: The image to the right shows the DT/DM/MM/SMM kit which contains 4 self-tapping screws. The CM-1 kit only has 3 screws, but the installation procedure is the same.

Note: When attaching the rail to the sheet metal, make sure there is clearance for the door to close properly.

2

Remove the header sheet metal [1] and slide the edge sensor [2] onto the rail.

Reinstall the header sheet metal [1].

3

Attach the cable on the edge sensor to cable [A]. Route cable [A] to the electrical cabinet as shown.

The cable part number for cable [A] is as follows:

  • DT/DM-1, MM/SMM, and CM-1: 33-0792
  • UMC-500: 33-1796
  • UMC-750/1000: 33-0799

Note: The upper image is for DT/DM-1, MM/SMM, and CM-1 and the lower image is for the UMCs.

DC-2 - Installation

1

Remove the handle from the right door and attach the edge sensor bracket [1] by reattaching the door handle [2].

Attach the edge sensor rail [3] to the bracket using (4) self-tapping screws provided.

Note: If the machine has a window airblast option, it will need to be removed and reattached after installing the edge sensor bracket.

Slide the door edge sensor into position on the rail.

2

Use the SHCS [1]  to connect the cable carrier [2] to the top of the door panel.

Also connect the cable carrier to the top right enclosure panel [3] so that the cable carrier bends as the door opens and closes.

Connect the door edge sensor to cable 33-0799 [4] and route the cable up the door with the cable clamps [5] and feed it through the cable carrier.

3

Route the edge sensor cable to the control as shown in the image.

Continue to the next sections of this procedure for instructions on wiring and testing the edge sensor.

Wiring Installation

1

Remove the LVPS and Autodoor power supply assembly [1] from the electrical cabinet.

2

Make sure the switch on the relay is switched to the ON position [1].

3

Remove the Autodoor power supply and attach the Edge Sensor Relay bracket (25-15536) [1] to the LVPS  using the screws [2] from the LVPS.

Snap in the Edge Sensor Relay [3] as shown, no hardware is needed.

4

Reattach the Autodoor power supply [1] to the LVPS and Relay assembly.

Attach the complete assembly [2] into the electrical cabinet.

5

Connect the following cables to the relay as shown in the diagram:

  1. Cable [A]
  2. Cable 33-1797
  3. Cable 33-0601

The cable part number for cable [A] is as follows:

  • VF-Small: 33-0799
  • VF-Medium: 33-1799
  • DT/DM-1: 33-0792

Secure any excess cable slack in the control cabinet with zip ties.
