This procedure outlines how to replace the pallet pool receiver in the following machines:

• VF-2YT
• VF-2SSYT
• VM-2

The procedure applies to the following service kits:

• 93-3884: PP RECEIVER REPLACEMENT KIT VF-2YT

The old receiver will need to be removed.

Remove the front and back sheet metal and bridge supports [1].

Remove the probe [2] and probe mount [4].

Pull back the waycovers [3].

Disconnect the lube lines from the linear trucks [1] and the ballnut [2].

The clamp/unclamp switches and their bracket [3] will need to be removed form the receiver as well.

Disconnect the clamp [5] and unclamp [4] air hoses and the air blast hose [6].
Note: Take note of which hose was connected where for when re-installing on the new receiver later.

Remove the bolts holding the ballnut housing [7] to the ballnut, the ballnut housing will be removed with the receiver to aid in re-installing the new receiver later.

Remove the hardware holding the cable carrier bracket [8].

 Important: Keep track of all hardware removed as it will be re-used to install the new receiver.

Remove the outer plugs [1] and remove the inner plugs [2]. 

Underneath the inner plugs [2] there will be smaller plugs like the outer ones [1] that were just removed, remove those at well.

Remove the plug from the middle [3] of the receiver.

Remove the linear trucks bolts [4].

At this point the receiver should be completely disconnected from anything on the machine and can now be lifted out of the machine.

Lifting can be done by using a 1/2-13 X 1.5 shoulder eye bolt [1].

Important: The receiver is about 400 lbs and should be lifted with a device that can safely lift that weight.

After the receiver is removed, place it down upside down to remove the parts that will need to be reused on the new receiver.

Loosen the screw on the locknut for the motor-bearing.

Install the collar-nut lock tool on the support-bearing housing.

 Note: Make sure the collar-nut wrench goes into the support-bearing housing slot and into the slots on the locknut.

Use the bearing-nut wrench tool to loosen the locknut.

Remove the locknut.

Remove the ballscrew support housing [1] and replace it with the new one provided in the kit [2].

Use the wrench for the bearing nut to torque the locknut for the support bearing to 4 in-lb (0.5 Nm).

Remove the collar-nut lock tool from the motor-bearing housing.

Torque the screw on the locknut. Refer to BALLSCREW - INSTALLATION TOOLS AND TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.

Install the bracket-bumper assembly on the housing for the support bearing.

The following parts will need to be removed from the old receiver and reinstalled on the new receiver:

• Copper lube line assembly [1]
• The X-axis home switch trip flag [2]
• Ballnut housing [3]

Now place the new receiver on the linear trucks to begin the install.

Important: Make sure to place the receiver to the left of the ballnut or else the ballnut housing will not fit over it.

Note: Blocking the receiver up on pieces of wood can help keep it raised while attaching the lube lines and switches.

Reinstall the copper lube lines to the linear trucks [1].

Reinstall the ballnut housing [7] and reinstall the the ballnut lube line [2].

Reattach the unclamp/clamp switches with their bracket [3].

Reconnect the unclamp [4] and clamp [5] airlines and the air blast hose [6].

Reinstall the x-axis cable carrier bracket [8].

Install the linear trucks bolts [1].

Note: When installing the bolts do not completely tighten them all down as there may need to be some movement when squaring the receiver in the next step.

Use an indicator to find the high spot on the front dowel pin and zero it out.

Then sweep the indicator across to the high spot of the right side dowel pin and adjust the receiver so that the high spots are within .0002" of each other.

Once the dowel pin high spots are within the correct specification torque down all the linear truck bolts to 50 ft-lbs.

Install (16) small plugs [1] above the linear trucks bolts.

Then plug the (9) through holes in the clamp plate with the larger plugs [2]

Re-install the front and back sheet metal and bridge supports [1].

Re-install the probe [2] and probe mount [4].

Re-install the waycovers [3].

Re-calibrate the Wireless Intuitive Probe System (WIPS) after it is re-installed. Refer to the WIPS - Interactive Operator's Manual for detailed instructions.
