This CAT40 ER16 collet chuck accepts a variety of ER16 collet styles, and has a 2-1/2" gage length. The double-taper collet design provides high clamping force for round, smooth shank tools, and offers a wide gripping range with excellent TIR and balance. It is through-tool coolant (TSC) capable, with a 5/8"-11 pull stud/retention knob thread.

Great deal
These tool holders are great. We have been using a competitor's holders for years. We were paying 2 or 3 times the money and we cannot tell the difference.

Good tool holders
Good tool holders, only little complaint is the diameter above the nut is a bit larger than it needs to be. If you need to run up close to a shoulder it can collide. Otherwise great holders, especially for the price.

ER16 tool holder
I bought this because I don't like using shop floor edge finders. I keep this holder with my edge finder chucked up. I am pleased with this purchase. I have not noticed any run out.

Quality ER16 Holders
These are as good as they get. Accuracy/ runout has consistently been .0002-.0003" on these, going back 1 year since we've been buying them. Not sure how they are doing it at this price point!

PRECISION
My company has standardized on these ER-16 Collet chucks because of their reliable precision. As long as we clean our tools and chuck before set-up, we consistently achieve very low TIR of less than 0.00005 inch. We have purchased other brands at 5-10 times the cost and still prefer Haas.

Great tool

Nice finish, runout was almost zero
bought a few of these to use on small tools. Bought some good quality collets also. Runout was as close to zero as i could measure.

Great Value
These are great tool holders for the money. They are as good or better quality than other tool holders I've used that are twice the price. For the money you really can't beat these. Great for a job shop environment where you don't need aerospace tolerances.

Finally, a complete tool crib...

Keep all your tools loaded!
Can't beat the value. As other have mentioned, buying these sure beats moving your small tools between holders; just buy a few more holders! The ER16s we've been receiving have a slightly smaller diameter below the flange than pictured. Certainly no problem aiming coolant nozzles directly at the cutting tool.

Our new "go to" holder
We picked up a number of these holders, and they are now our standard for small tools. The value is great and we can keep tools loaded for each of the products we make. The 2.5" length is a great substitute for the 3.0" length we used historically from other vendors.

My favorite general purpose tool holder
I bought a bunch of these with my mini mill, and I have most of my tools in these holders. These are the least expensive good quality holders I have found.

Can't have too many of these
We picked up a whole bunch of these and the 4" version and haven't regretted having them on-hand. I've started loading up drill/tap combinations with a jobber-length drill in these shorter ER16s and the associated tap in the 4" version. The only problem with having so many is that there are only 200 rows in the Haas control tool table!

Great Quality
I have several of these holders from Haas and the quality is as good, if not better, than the other mainstream brands out there charging a lot more. I am glad Haas is now bringing affordable and yet quality tooling options to the market.
