Note: The picture shows the section view of the right side door closed and the interlock is in the LOCKED position. For proper Interlock operation machine needs to be in the RUN mode. Refer to the Operator's Manual for more information about RUN\SETUP mode.
When the machine's door is closed, the interlock stop block  moves past the interlock piston . This triggers the normally open (NO) proximity sensor  to close the DOOR CLOSED circuit.
When commanded to lock the door, air pressure applies to the interlock air inlet  and forces the interlock piston  down against the O-ring . The end of the piston then extends out of the interlock body into the path of the interlock stop block so the door can not be opened.
When commanded to unlock the door, air pressure is vented to the atmosphere and the return spring  retracts the interlock piston back into the interlock body and clears the path of the interlock stop block so the door can be opened.
For the proper Door Interlock operation, the gap R (between the top of the interlock stop block and the bottom of the proximity sensor) and the gap S (between the back side of the interlock stop and the interlock piston when door is fully closed) needs to be set and maintained within the following limits:
- The gap R should be set to 0.0" - 0.09"
- The gap S should be set to 0.06" - 0.25"
To check the gap R use the tab A on the T-2199. Try to insert the tab A between the proximity sensor and the top of the interlock stop block when the door is fully closed. If the Tab A fits in the gap, then the gap is too large. To adjust the gap A change the interlock stop block with the one that has an appropriate height.
Note: The Pneumatic Interlock Installation Kit (P/N 93-2242) contains three types of the stop blocks: 1/16", 1/8" and 1/4" in height. You can stack up to two different stop blocks to achieve the appropriate height.
To check the gap S use the tabs B and C on the T-2199. If the tab C does not fit in the gap then the gap is too small. If the tab B fits in the gap then the gap is too large. If the gap C is not within the limits, adjust the door bumper.
