Overview

The Desktop Mill is the perfect teaching and hobbyist machine. Though small in size, it has full-sized features, including a full-function Haas control. Its compact size and ease-of-use can turn any classroom or office into a hands-on CNC training center!

A Small Mill with Big Features

Teaching CNC setup, operation, and programming has never been eaiser or more economical! Although the Desktop Mill is small, it has exactly the same functionality and controls as full-size Haas machines, so students and hobbyists can learn actual machine operation and programming techniques, without needing the space or resources required for a production machine.

  • Same full-function Haas control and interface as all Haas machines
  • Can be placed on a desk, table, cabinet, or mounted to a rolling toolbox – no dedicated space required
  • Turn any space into a CNC learning lab
    • Does not need compressed air
    • Does not need coolant, coolant maintenance, or disposal
    • Runs on single-phase 120V or 220V power (must be specified at time of order)
    • No dedicated power drop needed – just plug into the wall

Full Function Haas Control

The Desktop Mill is powered by a full-function Haas control housed in our portable simulator enclosure. It offers the same features and capabilities as a full-size Haas machine, so nothing is lost in translation when transitioning from the Desktop Mill to a production machine. Operators will have full access to, and quickly learn, all the powerful functions of the Haas control, such as our easy-to-use Visual Programming System (VPS), M130 media display, WiFi networking, HaasDrop, and more!

What is G-Code?
In the latest Tip of the Day episode, Mark answers a question we get asked all the time: “What is G-Code?” Not only will you get a quick history of G-Code, going back to its beginnings in the 1950s, but Mark also explains how G-Code is used today on modern Haas CNC machines.
How to Square and Indicate a Vise on Your CNC Mill
Have you ever spent way too much time trying to properly square a vise on your mill? In the latest episode of the Haas Tip of the Day series, Mark shows you a simple trick that will make squaring and indicating your vise quick and easy!
View Your Haas Control From Your Computer or Phone
Crowding a bunch of students around a Haas machine can make it difficult for everyone to see what’s going on. But with the Haas NGC control, you can mirror the screen on a computer or mobile device, and project the control on a classroom display.
Display Pictures and Videos on Your Haas Control Using M130
With M130, you can display setup sheets, tool lists, work instructions, and even videos – all within your program. No more taping work instructions to the machine, or hand writing notes telling your operator how to load or inspect a part; put it all in your NC program!
