35.1 Camera and Monitor - Installation

Note: A VR-9 Machine is used for illustrative purposes. The same applies to other VR Machines.

Mount camera [1] assembly in enclosure, right rear panel near the OMI [2].

Point the camera at the table where the parts are loaded. 

Route USB-C cable [1] following existing cable paths on the roof to the pendant area.

Route monitor power cable  from control cabinet 110V outlet to the pendant area using the existing pendant cable routing [1].

Note: Routing may vary based on machine size.

 Note: Remove the set screw on the lowest joint and slide the arm off of the base to access the bolt used to secure the arm to the machine.

Install monitor mounting arm [1].

 Note: For machine build before 11/1/2024, a .375 inch dia. hole needs to be drilled on the right top panel [2].

Note: For VR-8/9/11 machines place the hole approximately 9 inches (228.6 mm) from the left side (A) and 5.5 inches (139.7 mm) from the front of the machine (B).

 Note: For VR-14 machines place the hole approximately 12.5 inches (317.5 mm) from the left side (A) and 5.5 inches (139.7 mm) from the front of the machine (B).

Install monitor [1], and USB to HDMI converter box [2].

 Note: Route the cameras USB-C and power cables along the monitor arm under the plastic covers. 

Plug in all components using provided cables.

 Note: HDMI and Power cable supplied with monitor will not be used.

Power on the monitor to verify connections. 

Adjust camera angle until the display on the monitor shows preferred location.

Mount one camera assembly under the bridge on the right side [1] and the other camera assembly on the Tool Changer side [2] near the work light mount [3]. 

Point the camera at the table where the parts are loaded. 

 Note: Route the camera cable through the hole [4] on the sheet metal under the bridge.

Install monitor mounting arms in 2 of the 3 locations [1, 2, 3] on the front of the machine near the operators window.

Route USB-C cables following the existing cable routing [1].

Route monitor power cable from control cabinet 110V outlet to the back of each monitor using the existing routing [1].

Install the monitors [1] and USB to HDMI converter boxes [2].

Plug in all components using provided cables.

Note: HDMI and Power cable supplied with monitor will not be used.

Power on the monitor to verify connections. 

Adjust camera angle until the display on the monitor shows preferred location.

Route the USB cable [1] from the camera assembly [2] through the camera enclosure mount [3].

Mount the camera assembly [1] on the camera enclosure mount [2] using the included magnet.

Attach the camera enclosure mount [1] to the top of the machine enclosure on the corner closest to the Load Station.

Point the camera at the Main Base of the Pallet Pool. 

Install monitor mounting arm [1] near the operator door.

Install cable channel [1].

Install monitor [1], and USB to HDMI converter box [2] onto the monitor mounting arm [3].

 Note: The HDMI converter box may need to be secured with additional zip ties.

Route the USB-C cable [1] from the camera to the monitor.

Route monitor power cable [2] from the monitor to the control cabinet 110V outlet using the existing cable routing.

 Note: Route the cameras USB-C [1] and power [2] cables along the monitor mounting arm. Use zip ties or Velcro ties to secure the cables to the mounting arm.

Plug in all components using provided cables.

 Note: HDMI and Power cable supplied with monitor will not be used.

Power on the monitor to verify connections. 

Adjust camera angle until the display on the monitor shows preferred location.

If the monitor is displaying “OBSBOT” logo [1] on a black screen after the power is cycled, unplug and re-plug USB-C [2] cable from converter box [3].
